MWRA DAM WORK On April 1st, the MWRA will continue their earthen dam upgrades/maintenance as required by the Commonwealth’s 2006 new dam regulations. The water level in the open channel is currently being lowered to enable work at the Weir at Deerfoot Road to be performed. Mud flats will soon be visible in the Wachusett Open Channel, the waterway upstream of the Weir at Deerfoot Road. The area downstream of the Weir at Deerfoot Road, the Sudbury Reservoir, is also being lowered for work on the Sudbury Dam. Water levels in the Wachusett Open Channel should be back to normal by the end of May. The Sudbury Reservoir should be restored to its’ normal level by mid June.
