TOWN OF SOUTHBOROUGH

Development Coordinating Group

The Development Coordinating Group (DCG) is a body comprised of various Town department heads that meet regularly to review and discuss projects currently undergoing the land use and/or building permitting process.  Prospective applicants are encouraged to meet with the group to discuss their proposed project before initiating the permit process, or entering the engineering/design phases.

The DCG is comprised of the following:

Town Administrator

Department of Public Works
Police Chief

Fire Chief

Building Inspector
Board of Health Agent

Conservation Commission

Town Planner

The purpose of the DCG is to guide a prospective developer through the administrative aspects of a development, as well as provide recommendations regarding technical aspects of a particular project.
The DCG is strictly advisory in nature and does not make decisions regarding particular projects or permits.  This meeting does not in any way imply project approval from Town Boards and Commissions, nor does it preclude an applicant from filing all required applications and appearing before Town Boards and Commissions.

The DCG generally meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 2:30 PM, in the Town House. To be placed on a meeting agenda, contact the Planning Department (508) 485-0710, x. 3028 by 4:00 P.M. on the Tuesday prior to the regular meeting day.  Applicants are encouraged to submit preliminary drawings or plans (if possible) prior to the meeting in order to provide staff with time to review a project.
